  1. Vitamin D (4,000 IU) is a type of essential vitamin, often referred to as the “sunlight vitamin”. Vitamin D is synthesized when the skin is directly exposed to the sun’s radiation. This vitamin is known to help enhance bone health, as well as the overall mood. Surprisingly, one study noted that a daily 3,332 IU vitamin D supplementation saw massive increases in free testosterone, averaging: 10.7±3.9 nmol/l to 13.4±4.7 nmol/l.
  2. Zinc (Oxide) (15 mg) is also an essential dietary mineral concerned with the regulation of certain enzymes. It is believed that zinc normally leaves the body through sweat when a person exercises, and this possibly explains why zinc levels are so low immediately post-exercise. It is widely accepted that zinc supplementation is a great way of maintaining a healthy libido, and increasing testosterone, particularly in men displaying zinc deficiencies. An altogether different study found immense improvements in circulating testosterone took place after daily zinc supplementation.
  3. D-Aspartic Acid (1,500 mg) helps to synthesize testosterone regulation. This ingredient is also believed to aid male fertility. D aspartic acid works in the central brain region and helps to encourage the release of crucial hormones including the growth hormone, follicle stimulating hormone, and the luteinizing hormone. One study noted on average 60% increases in serum testosterone after daily 2.6 g D aspartic supplementation over the course of 90 days.
  4. Tribulus Terrestris (100 mg), originates in parts of the Middle East and India, and has traditionally been used to aid the libido. Despite many claims, this ingredient is actually impotent when it comes to testosterone enhancement. For instance, one study involving two female subjects, who were administered with 500 mg of tribulus daily, experienced no hormonal changes whatsoever. A completely different study involving 22 male subjects who were administered with 50 mg every day also failed to identify any positive changes in testosterone.
  5. DIM (Diindolylmethane) (50 mg) is a type of molecule, normally found in broccoli, and is known for its anti-cancerous and anti-aromatase effects. Anti-aromatase basically means it hinders the conversion of testosterone into estrogen.
  6. DHEA (Dehydroroepiandrosterone) (25 mg) is a naturally occurring hormone, and is believed to either converting to testosterone or estrogen, depending on the body’s requirements at the time. At least 14 studies have witnessed significant increases in estrogen, check this study as an example. Furthermore, at least 18 studies have witnessed DHEA’s conversion into testosterone, take this study is an example. It must be noted that the majority of current studies looking into DHEA’s effects have been carried out on women. More trials involving men are required.

Effectiveness

Test Booster 1.0 by Blade Nutrition contains a number of ingredients that will no doubt positively influence testosterone such as vitamin D, zinc, and D aspartic acid, all of which have repeatedly proven themselves in this regard during trials.

However with ingredients like tribulus terrestris, you’re offered little more than mere libido enhancement. Diindolylmethane is suspected of hindering testosterone’s conversion into estrogen, and DHEA has mainly been tested on women, and its effects on men require much more study.

Test Booster 1.0 by Blade Nutrition Overall Rating

Test Booster 1.0 by Blade Nutrition certainly appears to be a decent testosterone booster. It contains no less than three proven testosterone enhancing ingredients.

The one major downside I spotted with this supplement is the need to take six capsules every day. I don’t think this will be to everybody’s liking.
